Très très bon article sur le 360...bin c la first part là mais c un must read...

C'est drole paske justement ce matin je me demandais si le 360 allait jouer les divx/xvid et si on pourrait mettre a jour les codec comme on le fait en changeant de version de notre xbmc sur nos xbox....

La réponse a toutes ses question est NON!!!! Le fameux media center du 360 ca joue les mpeg, les mp3, les jpeg (on peut brancher notre cam numerique dessus via le usb pour checker les photos a tv...) pi pour le reste ca joue des pardonne moi Jesus de WMV!!! tk lisez l'article ca parle d'avoir windows media center...

tk c'est vraiment une crap pour ceux qui, comme moi, dld des emission pi des film en divx pi les ecoute sur la tv....jpense pas me débarrasser de mon vieux xbox tant que le 360 sera pas chippé!

c'est vraiment chiant...tant qu'a faire une belle feature comme le media center ils auraient pu se forcer calinne!

En gros ils disent que la console est merveilleuse, que les controles sotn parfait...que c'est trop genial! Dans la conclusion y disent que la console vaut la peine mais ce qui va faire que le monde l'achete ou pas c'est surtout les jeux disponibles...

Wow c'est rare pour une console pareil...

Tk j'ai joué a Perfect Dark là pi je vais faire un thread sur le jeu mais voici mes impressions sur la console jusqu'à maintenant :

Vive les cable component, l'image est belle au boutte, j'ai hate d'entendre le son en 5.1 mais meme en stereo c'est asser débile...les manettes sont vraiment parfaites...j'avais peur qu'elles soient pesante (c'est souvent le cas des wireless avec des piles) mais non...ils ont amélioré la derniere version des manettes de xbox pour pratiquement atteindre la perfection! Le power-supply est externe donc la console est moins grosse, moins pesante pi ca devrait diminuer la chaleur dedans aussi...tk c'est une belle machine!

Mais ya quand meme 2 defaut majeur je trouve, first le media center c'est vraiment de la merde comparé au bon vieux XBMC...j'ai voulu aller lire les mp3 sur mon pc comme je le fais souvent...mais avec la 360 il ne suffit plus de partager un dossier plein de mp3, il nous donne un url pi faut aller telecharger et installer un pc media center pour faire le lien entre le xbox 360 et le pc...une vraie idée merdique! (bien sur je n'ai pas installé ce foutu logiciel!) ...tout ca en plus de ne pas lire les divx alors que certains lecteur dvd le font...microsoft n'avait qu'a copier le xbmc et en faire une version pour 360 et a la place ils ont créé une merde qui ne fait pas aussi bien la job...c'est cave en $?/#%?/$ selon moi!

L'autre defaut c'Est le bruit! J'ai joeur a Perfect Dark pi pardonne moi Jesus j'entendais juste le dvd spinner dans le 360 au lieu d'entendre les coups de feux Serieux elle est vraiment trop bruyante (ca semble surtotu etre le dvd) ils auraient du l'insonorisé un peu...

Le fabricant taiwanais de médias vierges Ritek, qui reste l'un des plus gros producteurs de CD/DVD enregistrables, a exprimé son point de vue vis-à-vis du développement des futurs médias de stockage optique.

Selon Ritek, l'année 2006 sera principalement marquée par la vente de quantité très importante de DVD vierges certifiés 16x qui devraient remplacer/évincer définitivement les médias 8x. Plus tard dans l'année, ce sont les DVD+R9 (ou +R DL) et DVD-R DL qui seront à l'honneur. Ces DVD sont capables de stocker jusqu'à 8,5 Go de données. Toutefois leurs prix particulièrement élevés (en France, au minimum 4 euros/pièce pour un pack de 5 DVD+R9 acheté, comme on peut le voir ici). Mais les augmentations des capacités de production dédiées à ces médias devraient permettre de réduire les prix.

Concernant, la guerre des formats qui opposent Blu-Ray et HD-DVD, Ritek mise sur une potentielle victoire du Blu-Ray grâce au soutient important apporté à ce format par Hollywood. Ritek précise toutefois que ces technologies à base de laser bleu seront trop onéreuses pour se démocratiser rapidement et que le DVD a encore de belles années devant lui. Ritek augmentera une nouvelle fois ses capacités de production DVD+R DL l'année prochaine. La firme précise qu'elle n'aura besoin que d'un mois pour transformer ses unités de production DVD en unités Blu-Ray ou HD-DVD si cela devient nécessaire.

J'ai lu un review du Xbox et le dude disait aussi que c'était pas mal bruyant... les fans étaient déplaisant, le bruit du HD aussi ainsi que le DVD. Décevant Xbox360 ou décevante première version?

Décevante premiere version Obn se souvient que la premiere xbox ctait pire...une bonne partie des premiere console n'arrivait pas a lire les jeux...les vieux dvd thompson ctait vraiment de la merde...ya eu bcpd e retour pour ce probleme...pi ya eu quand meme 7 version (1.0 à 1.6) ..on a vu que ca s'est amelioré un peu avec le temps...ca va surement etre pareil aik la 360!

"An up-close look at the components and other materials used in the high-end version of the Xbox 360, which contains a hard drive, found that the materials inside the unit cost Microsoft $470 before assembly. The console sells at retail for $399, meaning a loss of $71 per unit -- and that is just the start.

Other items packaged with the console -- including the power supply, cables, and controllers -- add another $55 to Microsoft's cost, pushing the loss per unit to $126. These estimates include assumptions that Microsoft is getting a discount on many components.

That was the case with the first Xbox console, which contained about $323 worth of parts and materials when released, but sold at retail for $299. It's certainly not going to help Microsoft reverse the trend of losses in its home-entertainment segment. In the fiscal year ended June 30, that unit lost $391 million on sales just shy of $3.25 billion. That's a little more than 8% of Microsoft's total sales of $39.8 billion.

A Microsoft spokeswoman said that the company's plan calls for a "gross margin neutral" strategy through 2006, meaning that between the sales of consoles, game software, and accessories, it expects to essentially break even. Profits should follow in 2007.

ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT. Analyst Chris Crotty with iSuppli says that as both companies improve their manufacturing efficiency and production yields, they will likely reduce the chip's cost by 20% to 25%. The same will likely apply to ATI (ATYT), which is building the graphics-processing unit, or GPU, for the Xbox. iSuppli estimates that the chip is the most expensive component in the system at $141.

The graphics chip also includes embedded memory from NEC (NIPNY). "There's room to improve the yields on both chips," says Crotty. "We expect that could cut the materials cost by as much as $50." That would bring the materials cost down to $420 and total expense to $475 -- within $76 of break-even. Costs of other components could come down over time as well, further narrowing Microsoft's loss on the product.

Other components in the system include a hard drive from Seagate (STX), which costs $53, and memory chips from Samsung at $65, iSuppli says.

EVERYBODY LOSES. IBM also has designed chips at the heart of the competing video-game systems -- the Playstation 3 from Sony and Nintendo's forthcoming Revolution system, both of which are due next year. Crotty expects that Sony's loss on the Playstation 3 may be even wider, as the cell processor that IBM, Toshiba, and Sony designed for the system is more complex.

Estimates vary as to how much the cell processor will cost. Richard Doherty of Envisioneering Group in Seaford, N.Y., expects the cell chip to cost about 50% more than the Microsoft chip. "Based on what we've seen so far, the Playstation 3 could cost as much as $600 to make in today's pricing," Doherty says.

And Crotty says that since it's a more complex chip, its price will fall more slowly than the price on the Xbox chip.

FIRST TO MARKET. "The cell processor is a great chip with a lot of power, but we're hearing that it's a little more difficult to develop games that take advantage of that power," Crotty says, adding that the cell chip and Blu-Ray DVD drive will also add to Sony's materials cost. The Xbox 360 uses a conventional DVD-ROM drive that costs $21.

Sony has yet to set final pricing for the Playstation 3 in North America, but the unit is expected to sell first in Japan for the equivalent of about $450. Microsoft beat Sony in timing, but Sony could get at least some of its thunder back by shaving about $51 off that price tag.

LOS ANGELES, Nov 23 (Reuters) - Microsoft Corp. (MSFT.O: Quote, Profile, Research) on Wednesday said some Xbox 360 owners are reporting problems with the new video game console that debuted in North America earlier this week.

"We have received a few isolated reports of consoles not working as expected," Microsoft spokeswoman Molly O'Donnell told Reuters in a telephone interview.

Enthusiast Web sites such as http://www.engadget.com and http://www.xbox-scene.com as well as Microsoft's own Xbox Web forum on Wednesday carried postings from Xbox 360 owners reporting that some systems had crashed during regular play as well as during online game play using the Xbox Live service.

Problems included screens going black and the appearance of a variety of error messages.

"So, the Xbox 360's been available for, what, 15 minutes, and already the crash reports are streaming in," a poster on engadget said. The sites did not say how widespread the problem was.

The machine is the first of a new generation of consoles offering high-definition graphics and has been snatched up by game enthusiasts since its launch on Tuesday.

O'Donnell, who declined to say how many reports the company had received, said calls represent a "very, very small fraction" of units sold. The number of calls was not unexpected, she said.

"With any launch of this magnitude, you're bound to see something happening," she said.

O'Donnell said the best way to resolve the issues is to call 1-800-4MY-XBOX for trouble shooting. If that does not solve the problem, she said, Microsoft will repair or replace the unit.
