Microsoft Starts Banning 360s on LIVE

With the amount of posts we see on our forums ... it's clear, Microsoft decided to start banning Xbox360 with modified firmwares today.
While it's the same release date as Halo3 beta, it seems that people who didn't download Halo3 also get banned. They probably detect backup discs when you play 'em online (not confirmed yet).
Even people using the new firmwares with disc-jitter added get banned, so it looks like Microsoft found another way to detect it.
Just like on Xbox1 it seems Microsoft bans the console unique ID, not the LIVE user.

Ouin bin ca l'air que toute les passes pour pas que MS se rendent compte des copy ca marche pas....faudrait je lise un peu plus pour voir s'ils ban juste le monde qui jouent aik des copy ou si ta un illegal FW mais que tu joues sur live aik une vraie copie de jeu c ok.... mais en gros ca veut dire no more live for hacked firmware!

I have xtreme 5.3 firmware, was playing original UEFA FIFA tonight and it hit 22:15 and boom xbox live comes up and says disconnected from xbox live, then disconnected from messenger, I have checked all the cabling and nothing is wrong with the internet. I have power cycled the modem and the router and the 360. Could this be the awful time as the Halo3 beta dawns?

J'étais pour poster cette news mais tu m'as batu en vitesse!
Je trouve que ca leur a pris du temps à mettre ca en place, ca doit pas etre techniquement très complexe à implémenté. Tu fais un md5 de toutes les versions de firmware légales et tu compare avec la version locale. Si le hash est pas dans la liste, tu ban le id de la console.

si on tient compte du fait que MS on de la misere a faire un os ou une app qui marche du premier coup et qui veulent pas bannir du monde qui sont legal c'est normal qu'ils aient prit leur temps aussi....

c clair que moi je prefere jouer a 50 jeux hot gratos seul chez moi que jouer a 2-3 jeux online....et il reste tjrs l'option lan pour les hackers...ou les xkai pi les xbox connect et ces truc la...
