ATI today announced two new high-end and two entry-level graphics cards. The Radeon X1950 series carries the firm's brand-new R580 graphics chip and introduces GDDR4 graphics memory running at 2 GHz to enthusiasts. The manufacturer claims that the new cards X1950 XTX flagship card beats the performance of rivaling dual-GPU solutions.
For the new performance index, we chose a 128 MB Nvidia GeForce 5900 to serve as the "1.0" factor. So for example, a GeForce 7950 GX2 with an index score of 17.97 performs almost 18 times better than the 5900, which launched in mid-2003. Although the 7950 GX2 has the best overall performance score, ATI's Radeon X1900 XTX sells for $370.75, which is 26.5% less than what we project a hypothetical Nvidia card would sell for ($504.58) if Nvidia were to make one whose performance score was also 15.23. The 7950 GX2 sells for $575.14 on average.

Coudonc t'as tu regarder le graph avec des yeux de femmes....ca dit que le rapport prix/performance est mieux avec ATI.....y doivent couper le budget des developpeurs qui font les drivers pour vendre leurs cartes moins cher

justement, check ben le graph, la curve veut rien dire en tant que tel, c'est une espérance, c'est les points qui sont intéressants... À part les X1900 XT (à 500$ la carte), nVidia est pas mal plus sympa à mes yeux.

Indeed, so, dans le haut de gamme, ATI a une légère avance (je dis légère car ils ont mis un price drop sur ces 3 cartes là la semaine passée), alors probablement que nVidia va suivre d'ici peu.

Mon coeur était aussi avec ATI mais bon, c'est meme pu une compagnie canadienne maintenant alors bof. En plus, leur drivers linux meme s'ils se sont beaucoup améliorés sont encore inférieurs a ceux de nVidia.
Ca l'air bien comme produit....
